This page provides detailed information about some of the key areas of support I offer. It’s not an exhaustive list, as I tailor my approach to meet each person’s unique needs. More specific details about each area are provided below.

Navigating grief, loss or bereavement

Dealing with Loss? You Don’t Have to Go Through It Alone.

Grief is complex. It affects us in ways we never expect physically, emotionally, and mentally. Whether you've lost a loved one, experienced a major life change, or are struggling with unresolved grief, therapy can provide the support you need to start healing.

At ATA Counselling, I offer specialised support for individuals navigating grief and loss. I understand how overwhelming the process can be, and I’m here to guide you through it with patience, care, and understanding.

How I Can Help You Through Grief
-Understanding Your Grief: Everyone grieves differently, and that’s okay. I work with you to help you understand your own grieving process, whether it involves sadness, anger, guilt, or confusion.
- Coping with Loss: Whether it’s the loss of a family member, a relationship, or even a major life change (like moving or job loss), I provide tools and strategies to help you manage overwhelming emotions and find a way to move forward.

Healing from Grief
Grief can be a long and lonely road, but it doesn’t have to be walked alone. Together, we’ll explore your emotions and build ways to move through your grief, while honouring the memory of your loved one or adjusting to your new reality.

Living with ADHD, autism or other forms of neurodivergence

Living with Neurodivergence? You Are Not Alone.

If you’re neurodivergent, whether you have ADHD, autism, or other neurodivergent traits, you might sometimes feel misunderstood, overwhelmed, or isolated. Neurodivergent brains process information differently, affecting concentration, sensory experiences, emotional regulation, and relationships.

At ATA Counselling, I provide expert neurodivergent-friendly therapy and counselling in Bradford and online to support individuals of all ages navigating these challenges.

How I Can Help

  • Children & Young People: I offer specialised counselling for neurodivergent children and young people, using creative therapies like play therapy, art therapy, and sensory-based approaches. These help young clients express themselves safely, develop emotional regulation skills, and build coping strategies tailored to ADHD, autism, and other neurodivergent conditions.

  • Adults: My counselling supports neurodivergent adults managing ADHD, autism, sensory overload, executive functioning difficulties, and related emotional challenges. Together, we explore practical strategies for time management, reducing overwhelm, improving focus, and building self-esteem in a calm, accepting environment.

Why Neurodivergent Support Matters

Neurodivergence is often overlooked or misunderstood, leading to frustration, anxiety, low self-worth, and burnout. With neurodivergent-informed counselling, clients gain personalised support to harness their strengths and create effective strategies for daily life. Whether you’re seeking ADHD therapy, autism counselling, or support for other neurodivergent needs, I’m here to help you thrive.

Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally stuck

Many people seek therapy because they feel emotionally stuck, overwhelmed by anxiety, exhaustion, or burnout, and find life increasingly difficult to manage. If you’re struggling with constant overthinking, emotional overwhelm, or feelings of being overwhelmed by daily stress, you’re not alone.

In my counselling practice in Bradford and online, I offer a safe, supportive space where you can slow down, reflect, and start your healing journey. Together, we’ll explore the root causes of your anxiety, emotional shutdowns, and burnout, and develop gentle coping strategies tailored to your needs.

Therapy can help you reconnect with yourself, understand your emotions, and build resilience to face life’s challenges with greater confidence and calm.

Struggling with identity, relationships or low self-esteem

Sometimes, we lose sight of who we are or struggle to feel worthy in our relationships, work, or everyday life. If you’re feeling uncertain about your identity, battling low self-esteem, or stuck in unhelpful patterns, counselling and therapy can provide the support you need.

At ATA Counselling, I offer compassionate, person-centred therapy in Bradford and online to help you explore your sense of self, build confidence, and improve your emotional wellbeing.

Whether you’re facing relationship difficulties, self-criticism, or feelings of being “not good enough,” I’m here to support you on your journey to rediscover your strengths and self-worth.

No issue is too small , your story matters and you don’t have to face it alone.

Parents seeking support for their child’s wellbeing

Supporting Children & Young People Through Life’s Challenges

Being a child or teenager can be tough, especially when you're feeling anxious, isolated, or struggling to express what’s inside. I provide a safe and creative space where children and young people can talk, feel, and begin to understand their emotions.

As a counsellor, I work closely with young people to support them through a variety of struggles, including anxiety, self-esteem issues, emotional regulation, and difficult life changes.

How I Help
- Creative Techniques for Children: For younger children, I use creative methods, drawing, and other creative activities to help them communicate their thoughts and feelings. These tools help children express things they may not have the words for yet.
- Teen Counselling: For teens, I use a more conversational approach, focusing on building trust and providing a space for them to explore their identity, manage stress, and navigate complex emotions. Whether it's school pressures, family dynamics, or self-esteem, I help teens find their voice.

Why It’s Important
Children and young people often feel like their problems are “too small” to be taken seriously. But they deserve to have their feelings heard, validated, and understood. I aim to create a non-judgmental space where your child can explore their inner world and begin to heal from whatever is weighing them down.
