All About Me
Hi, I'm Arfeen Afsar, I'm here to create a welcoming and understanding environment where everyone can feel comfortable and supported on their unique journey.

When I was growing up, I knew I saw and felt the world differently. I was creative, sensitive,
distracted and often overwhelmed. It wasn’t until later in life that I recognised these
experiences as part of ADHD. As a child, I didn’t have the words and no one around me
really knew how to help.
What changed everything for me was counselling.
Having a space where I could slow down, speak freely and be truly heard gave me the
confidence to understand myself and to believe that I didn’t need to “fit in” to be worthy
of support.
That’s what I aim to offer now, especially to children and adults navigating life with
neurodivergence, or trying to survive the weight of grief and loss.
I specialise in working with:
- Neurodivergent clients (including ADHD and autism)
- Bereavement and complicated grief
- Children and young people struggling with emotional regulation
- Adults dealing with anxiety, low self-worth and overwhelm

I'm a qualified humanistic counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for
Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which means I work ethically, safely and with your
wellbeing at the centre.
I bring not just my training and knowledge, but also my lived experience and a deep
belief that therapy should be human, compassionate, and accessible to people from all walks
of life.
